Jared Goh is the Head, Outreach & Corporate Services with Caregivers Alliance Limited (CAL), which is a professional social service agency in Singapore dedicated to meeting the needs of caregivers of persons with mental health issues through education, support networks, crisis support, tailored services and self-care enablement. Since joining CAL in 2014, he has taken on different portfolios of Volunteer Management, Community Outreach, Programmes & Operations, Finance & Admin, Risk & Governance and Board Engagement.
Prior to CAL, Jared was a Senior Customer Fulfilment Professional at IBM Singapore providing Asset Management support to a large Singapore bank. He also spent some years as the VP, Product Marketing in a local software firm and had the experience of running a computer training business.
As a caregiver for his sister with major depression, anxiety and panic disorder and agoraphobia for many years, Jared received training and support from CAL, which helped him changed his mindset towards mental illness and caregiving. He then began to support other caregivers by volunteering as a caregiver leader trainer with CAL before becoming a full-time staff. He is a strong advocate against stigma and discrimination towards mental illness, and loves to share his personal experience in mental health awareness and caregiving. He is also currently volunteering as the Treasurer of the Association of Psychiatric Rehabilitation of Singapore.
Jared graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems and Computer Science from the National University of Singapore, and a Bachelor of Science (1st Class Honours) in Management from the London School of Economics, University of London. He also holds a Master of Non-Profit Management from the Singapore University of Social Sciences.
